Losing Weight Is Difficult

Make no mistake about it, losing weight is difficult. Certainly losing weight is not as easy as gaining weight. A casual attitude, or a program done in a hit and miss manner, will not get it done. It takes a plan and persistent work.

Realize that there are real advantages to losing weight. Being overweight can lead to diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and intestinal diseases. If you have any of these, and other diseases, losing weight can make them much easier to treat.

Losing weight can lead to healthy eating. Cooking with fresh foods can be fun, especially when the whole family joins in. And then they will likely learn to eat healthy also.

You will have more energy, able to enjoy sports and other activities better. And it will be more fun to shop for clothes after you have lost that extra weight.

Do you hate exercising? Find exercises that you like to do, such as gardening, raking leaves, mowing your yard. Find a partner to exercise with, even playing tennis or golf where both can be fun. Take an exercise class where you will meet new people trying to lose weight also.

Whether you plan to lose weight for cosmetic reasons, or health reasons, talk to your doctor first. Write down your questions. He or she can answer your questions, and knowing your health, advise you specifically for your purpose and needs, including diet.

Okay. Some tips for losing weight.

  • A repeat. Talk to your doctor first. It can save you health problems, and his advice will be specific for you.

  • Do not set your working goals too high. Be incremental in losing weight, and you can achieve those goals easier. Keep that larger goal in mind, but as a long term goal.

  • Follow a diet that your doctor has given you. Poor eating while exercising and unhealthy amounts of exercise can weaken your body and make you prone to injury.

  • Decide whether you want to lose weight in particular areas such as the hips or thighs, and have your doctor tell you what will work best for diet and exercise.

  • Set other goals such as lowering cholesterol and high blood pressure. Both will make you a healthier person.

  • Talk with a certified trainer and nutritionist, especially ones your doctor has recommended. They can design the exercise program for you that your doctor has recommended, and prevent you from over exercising.

  • Improve your posture. Good posture during exercises will cause better exercise results.

  • Don't just lose weight. Have several goals such also lowering cholesterol and high blood pressure. Have a plan that seeks to achieve all those goals.

Whether you set about to lose weight for cosmetic purposes or health, you can strengthen your body, achieve better health, and enjoy life better.

Well done! being a healthy weight is very important. Most people just loose weight for cosmetic reason but the health benefits are far bigger and more important. It is not much about being slim but about being healthy and happy with yourself!
