Tips For Being Happy

Are you still waiting to be happy? Are you waiting for circumstances to change before you can allow yourself to be happy?

It is true that happiness lies within you, which means that you are in control of your being happy.

You can be happy today, and in your overall life.

When something happens in your life that you thought would make you happy, you learn that there is something bigger and better, and then you want that to happen. So you are never happy. But you can decide to be happy, even if everything is not pleasant or happy.

1: Quit viewing obstacles and setbacks that you see often as failure. They are not failures but a part of life. Setbacks and obstacles are things not done yet. At the proper time you will accomplish them.

2. Do not let yourself become roped into a specific item that you think will make you happy, nor into a time frame. Some actions to complete take longer than others, and one specific item may be replaced with another, and it may be better.

3. Do not give yourself an excuse for being miserable. Loss of a loved one is a reason to be unhappy, in grief, for a while, but only for a reasonable length of time. Excuses are not necessities, and they can become habits of procrastination, and not doing anything, and that can lead to unhappiness.

4. Experience one of the most states of mind, and that is being grateful. A good exercise it to list on paper all of the good things in your life, and you will realize that the bad things pale in comparison. You realize then that you should be happy with your state. It is called being grateful, and it is powerful for your inner self.

5. Read books that stimulate you, take long walks, discover a place of silence where all the noise of the day is gone and you can enjoy moments of silence. Your stress level will go down, and you can dream. Or, merge into nature and listen to its sounds for they have a soothing, calming affect.

6. Learn that less can mean more, especially for your happiness. Just as you would clean out the closets and throw stuff away, also clean up your activities. No question that an activity life is good, but it can quickly become an overload resulting in stress and fatigue.

Consider the things you do daily, weekly and monthly. Are all of them necessary? Probably not. Cut those that are not that do not have a strong reason and a high priority. Give more time for self.

7. Affirm self with believable affirmations. Don't always depend on the opinions of others about you. Your opinions of self count also, and probably more than others. Shore up self with the real attributes you possess, and with love for you. It is good to be liked but not when you sacrifice self without real cause.

8. Build others up with real tasks or characteristics. Avoid empty flattery. They will feel good, and good about you, and you will feel better about yourself.

9. Avoid getting entangled in anger, anxiety, frustrations, and worry during each day. By doing thus you may find yourself in the right place at the right time enjoying more opportunities, and you will feel better about yourself.

10. Life is a journey from birth to death. Learn to enjoy it from moment to moment. Your life is like millions of others and they may everyone be happy. So can you. The decision is yours alone. I cannot make you happy nor can you make me happy.

Don't wait for happiness to come to you. Make a decision to be happy and then get to it.
