Personal Self-Improvement

When we improve self we start to feel more contented with self, and happy. As we further improve, those feelings grow. And we become people more confident in self, and that helps us to be a better person, even able to inspire others.

Learn to listen and talk to a trusted friend. Ask him or her critical questions about yourself, questions like: am I ill mannered, or too argumentative, and soon you will realize areas in your life that you need to change. Forget the idea of perfection in others, for we all have imperfections, thus you are "normal" and need not fear talking with a trusted friend.

We need to focus on strengths and accomplishments and build on them. For these increase happiness and our motivation.

Tips that can help one to initiate and follow a personal self-improvement program.

1. Take control of your life. Do not react to other people following their ideas unless those ideas are proven. If you don't do this then you will become one who is trying to please everyone, and that does not work. Though like thousands of others, you are nevertheless unique.

2. Take time to remember the things that you are thankful for in your life. For most, life is not "bad" so build on the good things in your life.

3. Look for proof. If someone seems disgruntled with you ask them why and what. You are likely to find out that you are not the cause. If you are the cause then you can change that which needs to be changed, and retain a good friend.

4. Don't use absolutes unless they are necessary as for a math problem solution. Absolutes like "You never call" make situations worse than they are.

5. If you are in a negative thought pattern take a walk, or sit outside for awhile. Change the environment and rid your self of the negative pattern.

6. Putting positive energy into the world will bring back positive energy. Help someone for an example.

7. Develop a positive attitude and those about you will respond in like, and you will feel better about self. You are solely responsible for your attitude. Make it positive, even about trials and problems. They become easier to deal with when you have a positive attitude.

8. For every negative there is a positive. Prove all aspects of the negative and soon a positive will arise like a shining star. Use those negatives to find the positive and pursue it.

9. Make things happen in your life. Don't sit and wait for they will not happen. Make them happen.

10. Do you realize that you are unique ? There is no one else that looks like, talks like you, or acts like you. You are unique. Determine who and what you are today and then build on those qualities, eliminating the undesirable, and increasing the good traits.

11. Everyone is limited in some way by family, friends, or job. Some may be unneeded, others may be good. Remember that valid limitations discipline you to work within what you have and are today.

12. Become a leech for learning and knowledge. Gain them wherever you find them: from family, friends, at work, at the library. Be creative in using the knowledge learned: no not for fantasies, but how that knowledge can be applied in your life to improve it. Soon others will be asking your opinions, and that is a good feeling. Give those opinions for free.

13. Successful relationships are a must for success. Listen to others and make sure you understand them, then speak. Respect them, and yourself.

14. Believe in yourself, and in what you can do. Understand that your brain is like Einstein's and you can also do big things.

15. Practice, practice all the right things learned, the things implement into your life, and you will find success just around the corner.

Summary

Self-improvement is one of the great benefits of life, for it will enhance what you think of self, make you a better person according to others, and bring success.

I have never considered myself perfected or where I want to be in knowledge and hopefully ability. The only way to improve is for me to make it happen. Thank you for you good comment.
